What is Giclee?

The French word "Giclee" (pronounced zhee-clay) translated in English to "spraying of ink". Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art and photo-base paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. The Giclee prints have the authentic look of a more expensive original painting and, like the original, is framed without glass. The Giclee print is the next best thing to owning the original. Highly collectable Giclee prints are an established medium in the fine arts community .
