Richard Chorley's Pebble Beach 7th hole has captured the beauty of this course. Pebble Beach hugs the rugged coastline and has wide views of Carmel Bay, opening to the Pacific Ocean, on the south side of the Monterey Peninsula. THe course opened in 1919 and was designed with objective of placing as many of the holes as possible along the rocky and beautiful Monterey coast line. This was accomplished using a "figure 8" layout.
